You may recall our previous articles on the 1959-61 and 1965 Jeep lineups at Allpar.com . Now we are going to look at the 1975-1976 Jeep vehicles. By far the biggest change was the introduction of the CJ-7 in 1976, which had a 20″ longer wheelbase than the CJ-5. This allowed for a better ride, easier access, and more storage room.

For the Cherokee and Wagoneer, the biggest change was the mid 1975 release of the Cherokee Chief. The Chief came with larger “off road” tires, flared fenders, and 3.54 gears, among other upgrades. Both the Wagoneer and Cherokee came with an upgraded frame and suspension in 1976, as did the pickup.
