Olive Drab.com is a great site for vintage army vehicle information. Take the above photo for instance. This was the first Bantam, which started the whole Jeep thing with Bantam, Willys and Ford. Bantam Number One, was delivered to Camp Holabird, MD on 23 September 1940. It was called the GPV (General Purpose Vehicle), the Pilot Model, or Number One.
