THE RENNSPORT GROUP/ARMED BANDIT PRODUCTIONS RELEASE NEW TRAILER FOR “BAJA SOCIAL CLUB” FILM
— General Tire and Oakley Support Unique Documentary —

(Foothill Ranch, Calif.,) – The Rennsport Group, in association with Armed Bandit Productions today released the official trailer for their new documentary film project “Baja Social Club.”  Shot in cinematic style and quality, Baja Social Club is a filmed documentary chronicling the special men, machines and history behind the birth of off-road motorsports in Baja, Mexico. The newly released trailer complete with a specially composed musical score can be seen at:

Almost three years in the making and supported by General Tire, Oakley and the National Off Road Racing Association (NORRA), Baja Social Club stars motorcycle legend Malcolm Smith, off-road legend Walker Evans, dune buggy inventor Bruce Meyers and inaugural NORRA Mexican 1000 winner Vic Wilson. The 60-minute documentary film is being directed by James Masters and was created by Executive Producer Marty Fiolka.

Thanks to newly uncovered theatrical Hollywood-quality film footage not seen since 1968, the Baja Social Club trailer includes appearances by an incredible “who’s who” of motorsports names including James Garner, Mickey Thompson, Parnelli Jones, Bob Bondurant, Scooter Patrick and even Dave Despain.  Also included are off-road icons Robby Gordon, Rod Hall, Johnny Johnson, Larry Minor, Larry Bergquist, Lynn Chenowth and Andy DeVercelly Jr.

Baja Social Club is the authentic human story of a band of pioneering and passionate risk-takers that four decades ago created the original extreme sport while unknowingly revealing a very special land for the rest of the world to enjoy.  They are the last of their breed, but still young at heart.

Today’s General Tire NORRA Mexican 1000 vintage off-road rally serves a backdrop for the inspirational tale of how these men come together, perhaps for the last time, to rediscover themselves on a 1,200-mile journey to their collective soul. This primitive, hostile and beautiful strip of dreams that was once their most daunting adversary has now become their spiritual home. The pioneers are joined by a group of youthful new adventurers seeking to follow their footprints including racers Jim Riley, Rick Johnson and Boyd Jaynes.

Additional support for the Baja Social Club came via American Racing Wheel, Walker Evans Racing, Azunia Tequila, Replay cameras and racer Cameron Thieriot.

“There is nothing more satisfying than seeing one person’s vision become a reality for people to share and enjoy,” explained Baja Social Club Director James Masters. “First and foremost, Marty Fiolka knew exactly what story he wanted to tell and just kept pursuing that goal. What really matters in a project like this telling is timeless storytelling. This film will appeal to many people because it has so many compelling layers.”

Michelle, This is a movie that is currently being produced and is supposed to be released next year. I’m sure it will come out on DVD and they will probably have limited screenings in Southern California.
