Dave from Ewillys sent me this photo after seeing the Rapid Transit Jeep in an article about vintage BC sand drag photos on our sister site, Off Road Race Canada. Roger Mason (sp?) from BC owned this Jeep and travelled all over North America to race it. Probably the most interesting part is that the Jeep was powered by a superchargerd 4 cylinder Chevrolet engine and often beat the big horsepower V8 guys!

In October, we featured a vintage sand drag racing Ford Bronco that was originally built in the 70′s and was being restored to its former glory. The owners have been working extremely hard and finished it in time to bring it to a local Southern California Ford car show. They have done an amazing job and the attention to detail is incredible. We have not featured older sand drag photos for a while, so I thought I would showcase some recent additions from the Old School Pics thread on Sand Drag Central. Do you remember the sand drags from the 80′s? Supercharged engines in rigs that weighed less than 1000lbs, dual paddle tires….awesome memories!

For years, I had heard about Dirt: The Movie, but had never seen it. Now, we have the ablility to view the whole movie on You Tube. Follow Clarke Gordon as he travels across the states to learn more about this thing called off roading. Desert racing, sand drags, swamp buggies, hill climbs, Pikes Peak…this video has it all! It is a great collection of vintage off road racing! thanks to Ewillys and Race Dezert for finding these videos!

Classic Broncos.com member My69Pony has posted some vintage photos of the off road race Bronco that his dad used to race in the 70′s and 80′s. He will be starting to restore the early Ford Bronco in the next few months. Of course, we are super excited to follow along on the progress as well as see vintage off road racing photos! The race Bronco was originally owned by Charlie Erickson from California. My69Pony’s father brought the Bronco north to Wyoming in 1970 and the rest is history!

Reader Steve Payne sent in some old photos of BC sand drags. These photos, from the early 80′s, showcase some of the awesome sand drag race vehicles from that era. Steve is sending more photos from the US-Canada Nationals at Mission Raceway before it was paved and he promises the vehicles are even wilder!

I was looking for some photos of 66-77 Ford Bronco race vehicles, so I started a thread on Classic Broncos and one at Sand Drag Central. The response was great and there was some awesome photos of desert racing, sand drag, tough truck and more!
