I bought mine gutted too. The Woodsman is just a big van, so room is always a problem. Safe seating and sleeping is going to be your problem. A couple of the smallest can sleep on the dash.
A couple things I recommend: move the water tank to under the vehicle. I moved to 20lb propane tanks off the back, so I had room for the water tank underneath. I changed the stock fuel tank to one out of an late 90's Suburban - reliability. By far the best upgrade was a suspension seat for the driver (like in big trucks).
I've changed my interior layout 2 times, until I found the sweet spot. I'd say build it and try it, then you'll know what works and what is priority.

I've had my Woodsman for over 10 years.
The Isuzu 6BG1T conversion was a fair amount of work, but I get 14-15 mpg now. Running a divorced 205 and I just installed a twin stick setup. I fitted the shifters on the outboard side of the driver seat, so much better than the stock location. My latest project for it... I'm working on a remote controlled airbag leveling system. 4 airbags, onboard compressor, relays operating solenoids - manual control (so not automatic leveling)

Hello. I recently updated the interior of my Woodsman - again. I learned what works and what I needed. The 6bg Isuzu diesel was also fitted with a better turbo, so the added torque is nice and still gets about 14-15 mpg if you drive under 70 mph. Plan to post a youtube video and display how unique these cool old RV's are - look for 'another Woodsman RV'; should be posted sometime in summer of 2020.

Very nice looking Woodsman!!

I just purchased a Woodsman. The engine & transmission(318 & A727) work great. I have not tested the 4×4 yet, but I’m told it works as should. It has been completely gutted. Just a hollow body, frame, and drive-train. Paid $250 for it, but it’s going to take lots of $$$ go get it road worthy. First I need to get the brakes working properly. If anybody has any information or details they think I should know please . . . please let me know. Thanks.
