ORA reader Scott Roberts recently sent us these photos of his dads 1977 Ford Bronco that he restored and started racing this year. His dad raced it in the late 80’s after buying it from the original builder, Chuck Johnson (Chuck went on to race for the Ford Rough Riders in 1991-1992 in 7s).
The Bronco currently has a 351w engine with an Art Carr C6 and full floating 9″. It has the old Rancho rebuildable 14″ shocks also. Scott tried to restore it to the way his dad raced it back in the 80’s and he is currently racing it in Montana and Wyoming.
i always loved that truck. what a neat piece.
It was actually initially purchased by M. Foltz of Wisconsin from chuck Johnson who raced it in the Midwest SODA series for a few years (numerous class 3 wins at Crandon) before being sold to Mr Roberts who then raced it out west.
