Did you know that Chevrolet built a Corvair 4×4 truck that articulated in the middle and ran 44″ tall tires? We introduce you to the AGL-4, their agile experimental truck.
The truck was powered by a air cooled four cylinder Corvair engine located at the front of the vehicle. It was coupled to a powerglide transmission and a dual speed transfer case. The cab, or “power unit” was detachable to the bed and could be attached to other beds. The small approach and departure angle, combined with the articulating centre and 44″ tall tires, make this truck almost unstoppable! Check out the video below, it is worth it!
