When was the last time you saw a Chevrolet Luv? How about a 4×4 version? They are pretty rare these days, so if you want to build one, your best bet may be to build a plastic model version like ddlova from the Off Road Model forum did! I love the classic vintage look! What do you think?
Jerry McDonald drove a number of Chevrolet vehicles for MacPherson Chevrolet throughout the 70’s and 80’s. Does anyone have information or photos of this early 70’s Chevrolet Blazer? Did Jerry win any races with it?
We recently came across this 1961 Chevrolet Apache 4×4 Panel Truck for sale on Hemmings.com and fell started drooling. The truck has been restored. It is definatly a unique truck, but I am not sure that it is worth the $49,900 price tag. What do you think?

Epicrider from the Expedition Portal forum is selling his 1977 Chevrolet Blazer Chalet camper. This unique rig is in pretty good shape overall, but does need a few things like having the fridge repaired, new curtains and some minor surface rust. The asking price of $5000 seems very reasonable when you factor in the 3/4 ton running gear and added aftermarket accesories. Remember when you built plastic models when you were a kid? I was never good at it, but I tried again a few years ago and built a nice custom Grand Cherokee that matched my 1:1 version. However, it was never as good as some of the ones at Off Road Models !
Probably a better question is who does not remember the Fall Guy? A lifted GMC truck jumping over fences, ponds and who knows what else. I mean really, whas there any other shows in the 80’s that had better action than the Fall Guy, Dukes Of Hazzard and the A Team? For those that are too young to enjoy the memories, the show was centered around Colt Seavers (Lee Majors), who is a hollywood stunt man that takes on bounty hunter side jobs.
After been stored for 15 years, Southern Sunshine will be shining again! A lifetime dream was cut short when Mart Williams, age 26, died of an accidental drowning in Prien Lake on Thursday, June 5, 1986. Mart’s dream was most vividly expressed in “Southern Sunshine”, a four-wheel drive Chevy Monster Truck, which he built, operated and displayed to thousands of truck fans throughout the country. Ironically, on the day of Mart’s death, he received a letter from New York City recognizing “Southern Sunshine” as one of the top ten Monster Trucks in the world. But, the meaning of “Southern Sunshine” is more than just the truck that Mart built. It stands for Mart’s devotion to bringing happiness to others through recreation. Mart constantly reminded us of the need to balance our lives with a proper mix of work and recreation.
Here is an interesting old video of Bearfoot and Lil’ Bearfoot doing some classic crushing. It is so weird to watch these guys crush cars and think that I was in absolute awe of them when I was a kid. Now the video is boring…
Robbie Williams, who currently owns and is restoring the Virginia Beach Beast monster tank commented on our last article about the trucks restoration. He mentioned that he now has a Facebook fan page for the truck. Of course we joined the group and were happy to find some awesome vintage monster truck videos.
