Do you remember the Desert Beast Ford Bronco monster truck? Whatever happened to it? Who owned it and what were the stats on it?

The Awesome Kong II monster truck was built by Jeff Dane of King Kong fame. The truck, which was the first rear engine monster truck, was powered by a V12 allison airplane motor. This powerhouse had 1710 cubic inches, 24 exhaust pipes and put out over 3000 hp!

Last month, we posted some photos of an early Ford Bronco bush fire truck. I also posted new message on the Classic Broncos.com message board asking for more information or photos of other Bronco fire trucks. Proving why it is one of the best Ford Bronco forums on the internet, some unique photos were posted.

I do not get onto the RC forums very often, but this build from Scale 4×4 RC caught my eye. Being that the 1969-72 Ford Bumpside F100 is one of my favourite truck body styles, I fell in love with this buildup! What a great job!

Terry Marvel has some great examples of vintage 70’s Ford Broncos in ads. Some are Ford magazine ads, while some are from different companies, like Minolta.

Now this is awesome! Bigfoot and King Kong were neck and neck for the being the first official monster truck. Check out this video from the late 70’s!

This 1972 Ford Bronco Brush truck was an ex-Lake Jackson Volunteer Fire Department truck, then an ex-Shepherdstown VFD vehicle.
