Rory Ward and Jeff Furrier recently purchased Mark Stahl’s vintage 1977 Chenowth 1000 desert racing buggy with plans on racing it in the NORRA 1000 vintage off road rally next spring. The buggy has a well decorated past, having won Class 1 in the infamous Baja 1000 three times, including twice overall. Stahl also received the Ironman award for driving the Baja 1000 solo. He first raced the Chenowth buggy in the 1977 Baja 500 and his last race was the 1981 Baja 1000. The car was sold to Jim Travis, followed by a few other owners until Ward and Furrier picked it up. Follow along on Race Dezert as the rebuild this vintage off road race car from the frame up.

How many of you have heard of the Storm Warning monster truck? Do you have more photos or some information about the truck?
Have You Ever Heard Of The Star Monster Truck?
I recently came across this photo of the Star Monster, which I have never heard of. How about you? Have you ever heard of the Star Monster truck? Does anyone have more photos? This photo screams 80’s monster truck!

Remember the 80’s? 4×4 cars seemed to be at their height…how about this wild pinto? I was going to make some smart comment about somebody wrecking a perfectly good pinto, but…

Playin For Keeps Monster Truck
Do you have information about the Playin For Keeps monster truck? I have heard the name before, but cannot remember who owned it or when it was run. Do you have more photos?
Instigator Monster Truck
Check out this old photo of the Instigator monster truck. I love the coil springs in addition to the leaf spring suspension. Due to the steel body, suspension design and centre mount seat and rollcage design, I am guessing that this photo is from the early 90’s. What do you think? Do you have more photos of the Instigator monster truck?

Here is a restored military fire truck. I am not very good with the older army trucks…what make is this? Chevrolet? Studebaker?
Fiat Campagnola: This One Is Not For Sale!
Last month, we featured a 1956 Fiat Campagnola 4×4 that was for sale. At the time, the owner mentioned that he thought it was the only one in the USA. Since then, Off Road Action reader John Richardson sent us a photo of his Fiat Campagnola. It turns out that he lives less than 20 minutes from the owner of the other Fiat Campagnola! Richardson has put a lot of blood, sweat and tears (or is that beers?) into his Campagnola, but he attibutes that to the simple fact of owning a Fiat. We intend to do another article with more information about this unique vehicle. While it is rare to see one in North America, there seems to be a fair number of them in Europe. This probably stems from the fact that they were produced from 1951 to 1973 without any major changes. The Neuva Campagnola was an updated version that was manufactured from 1974 to 1987. So, has anyone else seen one in North America?
1953 Willys Jeep Bobcat-Another Jeep Prototype
A few weeks ago, we featured the prototype 1969 Jeep XJ001 4×4 sports car. Today we have another Jeep prototype, but we are going back to the companies army roots. Being that the Bobcat was designed to be an air drop vehicle, it weighed only 1475lbs. The tiny Willys Jeep shared a lot of parts with the M-38 and M38-A1, although the frame was from the MB tooling. Sadly, the Willys Jeep Bobcat never made the production line. However, we are still looking for more information about it. Does know more?
