We are actively looking for authors to research and write articles for Off Road Action. We are looking for people that have an interest in vintage vehicles and love talking about them. Each staff member has their own areas of specialty and we are looking to expand our knowledge base. The fact that we do not currently pay for articles is overshadowed by the fact that you get to see your name on the front page of Off Road Action! We are working on reimbursing our authors, but need for the advertising income to become a little larger first.
Storm Warning Monster Truck Photos & Information
Last month, we posted an article asking for information on the Storm Warning monster truck. Ron Bulson, owner and builder of Storm Warning, contacted us with some information and photos of the truck in its prime.
This is my second truck. The first was called Instigator a 1979 Ford Bronco. We started building Storm Warning in 1991. I ran the truck until 1996. I sold it to John Seasock in 1996 an he renamed it Sudden Impact. I mostly ran on the east coast an Canada. The truck was a tubular frame with extra long leaf springs with four shocks on each side. Rockwell 106 axles with 20 ton planetary knuckles with disc brakes. Front and rear steer, Goodyear 66 inch tires. The engine was a 1971 429 cobra jet bored and stroked to a 514. Tunnel ram with two predator carburetors back by a C6 transmission to a profab transfer case. A 1992 fiberglass body. The truck worked real well. The truck landed with no bounce and was quick because of it light weight. I’ll get some more picture to you soon.
Restored Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45LV Troopy For Sale
If you have been following this blog for a while, you know from our past articles on FJ45 Troopy’s that they are pretty rare in North America. As with any Toyota Land Cruiser, they tend to get eaten by rust. The restoration of this Land Cruiser for sale in Bend, Oregon appears be of great quality…of which the $39,500 price also dictates. As mentioned on Bring A Trailer, the engine has been swapped to a later 2F model. We tend to agree with them on changing the tires over to BFG all terrain or mud terrains. They seem to suit these unique vehicles a little better. Regardless, this is an excellant example of a Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45 Troopy.

Neat 1966 Jeep CJ-6 For Sale
We came across this 1966 Jeep CJ6 for sale in Austin, Texas on EWillys.com. It is hard to tell because of the small photos, but it looks to be in pretty good shape. I am kind of curious about the spring assisted seats, though.
Please Take A Moment to Remember
We do a a lot of articles on Off Road Action about military vehicles. While we oooh and aaah over the photos, we tend to think little about the soldiers. For a reason, we do not put very graphic photos on this website. I know that we do not thank the soldiers often enough here and it is something that we would like to change. They put their lives on the line for our freedom. While you may or may not agree with modern military practices, you do have to admit that these brave men and women deserve recognition for their courage and sense of pride for their country. As one soldier said, ” If you do not stand behind our military, feel free to stand in front of them. ”
