A few weeks ago, we featured the prototype 1969 Jeep XJ001 4×4 sports car. Today we have another Jeep prototype, but we are going back to the companies army roots. Being that the Bobcat was designed to be an air drop vehicle, it weighed only 1475lbs. The tiny Willys Jeep shared a lot of parts with the M-38 and M38-A1, although the frame was from the MB tooling. Sadly, the Willys Jeep Bobcat never made the production line. However, we are still looking for more information about it. Does know more?

From what I can recall, John Baker was the first off road racer to be sponsored in full by Dodge in the Class 8 Two Wheel Drive class. Baker was a well rounded driver that had decent success in his Ford Bronco before switching to the Dodge truck. He ran this truck for two years before the Dodge sponsorship was transferred to Walker Evans. At this point, John Baker moved to a Class 7 D-50 mini truck. Does anyone have more photos or information about Baker and his Class 8 dodge desert race truck? It is currently being restored and the owner would like more information.

This 1978 Toyota FJ45 Land Cruiser pickup for sale in British Columbia is one great looking truck! When you combine the recenly painted body and pristine running gear, coupled with the Toyota Land Cruiser toughness and good looks, you have yourself a winner. Sure, this example may need a little bit of work and finishing touches, but all the hard stuff is done. While the $16,000 price tag may seem high at first glance, reasearch on Toyota Land Cruisers show that this is right in line with other Cruisers in this shape.

At first thought, $6000 for this 1969 Ford Bronco posted on Classic Broncos.com may seem like a lot. After all, it is just an old, stock, early Bronco. However, this changes when you look at the photos. When is the last time that you saw a rust free early Bronco that was not either restored or modified? This is a great start for somebody looking to start slowly restoring an uncut classic Bronco. There is a lot of new stock replacement parts, like ignition and brake parts. Of course, as with any vehicle of this age, there is some dents and scrapes. Still, I think it is a great deal. What do you think?

Dave from Ewillys.com always has some great articles, but he has outdone himself with his new article about Pacific Northwest off road races and playdays from the 70’s really hit home for me. I grew up attending the same events in British Columbia and Washington with my family in the 70’s and early 80’s. Of course, the obstacle course and sand drags were popular, but some of the most loved events were things like the potato stab, blindfold driver race, and the backwards race. One of my favourite stories is when my parents were at a playday Calgary, Alberta. One of the events was where the co-driver would hold a bowl full of water while the driver tried to navigate the off road course as fast as possible. The team with the most amount of water left in the bowl was the winner. My parents were making great time until they came to a rough section. For some reason, my Dad forgot to lock in the hubs and they were stuck with only the rear tires spinning. My mother proceeded to dump the bowl of water on over my Dad’s head. Of course, the local city news was there to capture the moment and it was blasted over the local news for a few days. Do they still hold events like this in your area? What were some of your favourite events?

I have to admit that I have never seen a Willys Jeep fuel tanker truck. Honestly, I never even thought about it until I saw this 1956 Willys Jeep truck for sale. Have you ever seen a Willys truck used as a fuel truck?

The popularity of our Ford Bronco Camper articles here , here and here proves that people are interested in seeing camperized SUV’s. Even to this day, these articles are some of the most read posts on this website. Even the International Scout camper article and Chevrolet Blazer Chalet articles are extremely popular. So, when you combine the popularity of the camperized vehicle articles and the popularity of our Jeep CJ-5 articles, I think there will be a lot of people interested in seeing the restoration of this 1973 Jeep CJ5 with a camper that was an option in 1969. As you can see, the reader is has pretty much finished the restoration of the CJ and is starting to work on the camper. I will be doing another feature article with more history about the Jeep camper, but in the mean time, does anyone have information about them or photos?
