Day one of contingency for the NORRA’s Baja 6 Day Rally went off without a hitch, setting the tone for another incredible week in Baja.
Held in the heart of Ensenada near the iconic Riviera Cultural Center, racers rolled in with fresh builds and polished machines, ready to pass inspection and begin their rally journey. From seasoned veterans to first-time competitors, the energy was high as teams prepared for the days ahead.
One of the standout moments of the day, off-road legends Carl Renezeder and Rob MacCachren teaming up in the same car alongside Carl’s son, August Renezeder. Between Carl and Rob, the duo brings over 500 combined race wins to the rally, an all-time lineup that blends decades of dominance with the next generation stepping in.
Adding to the atmosphere, the Mack Johnson Classic Car Roundup brought a strong showing of vintage Volkswagens “vochos”and other classic Baja icons, drawing fans and racers alike to take in a unique blend of history and horsepower.
With a solid turnout and smooth operations throughout the day, contingency is officially underway and Baja is coming to life once again.
