Have You Ever Seen A Jeep CJ-5 Camper?

The popularity of our Ford Bronco Camper articles here , here and here proves that people are interested in seeing camperized SUV’s. Even to this day, these articles are some of the most read posts on this website. Even the International Scout camper article and Chevrolet Blazer Chalet articles are extremely popular. So, when you combine the popularity of the camperized vehicle articles and the popularity of our Jeep CJ-5 articles, I think there will be a lot of people interested in seeing the restoration of this 1973 Jeep CJ5 with a camper that was an option in 1969. As you can see, the reader is has pretty much finished the restoration of the CJ and is starting to work on the camper. I will be doing another feature article with more history about the Jeep camper, but in the mean time, does anyone have information about them or photos?

1969 Jeep XJ001 Prototype-A Jeep Sports Car?

You have to admit that the Kaiser Jeep Corporation gave us some very interesting vehicles in the 60’s. The Forward Control Jeep truck, the fullsize Wagoneer SUV, the Jeepster Commando and more. So, why is it such a surprise when you see photos of the 1969 Jeep XJ001 prototype, which is in reality a Jeep off road sports car. The whole concept was the brain storm of Jim Anger and the group of Jeep designers. Since outback adventures were starting to gain popularity at the time, the idea behind the concept was to develop a vehicle that would be fun to drive on the street as well as off road.

Vintage 1960’s Tierra Del Sol Desert Safari Videos!

The Tierra Del Sol 4×4 Club Desert Safari rally started in 1967 and continues to this day! Below we have some awesome videos from the early years of the annual event, which takes place in the California desert. The Tierra Del Sol rally is easily one of the largest and most popular events in the southwest, if not for all of the USA. We hope that you enjoy the videos below. Watch them on full screen view if you can! It is really neat to see how much technology has changed over the years. Long gone are the days of manual steering, 3″ of wheel travel and bellbottoms. We are happy to see that the family aspect and friendships gained through four wheeling has not changed over the years. Not to mention bikini’s. What do you think of the videos? Do you have some old videos or photos that you would like to share?

Jeep Factory Assembly Line Archives

Jeep had originally dated this photo as 1964, but as commentors noted on the Hemmings Blog, it has to be around 1968 or 1969. That style market lights on the Wagoneers were not used until 1968. Perhaps even more interesting to me is the weird marker lights on the CJ-5 Jeep. Was it built for foreign export?

1958 IKA Jeep JA-3AB For Sale In Argentina

This Jeep JA-3AB for sale on Ebay is totally different than what I am used to seeing! If not for the $15,000 price tag and the cost of shipping from Argentina, I would consider buying it. It is just so different! It is obviously patterned after the Jeep CJ-5, but I have never seen some of the wierd things like the steps. I love the pop out windshield, though! Have you ever seen a Jeep like this? Do you have any more information?

A Jeep CJ-5 Backhoe?

Have you ever seen a Jeep CJ-5 with a bucket on the front? I have seen them with the backhoe on the rear, like the Go Fer Digger, but I have never seen one with the front bucket. Honestly, I am thinking at this point, you might as well just buy a tractor. Via…
